SPRING BREAK 2011!!

We decided to do a driving tour for our spring break.  We decided to drive north through the Italian Alps to Germany.  It was amazing driving through the flat plains and then coming upon the Alps.  They were beautiful!!  The coolest part is that it is called the Brenner Pass.  The Brenner pass connects Italy with Austria.  On the Italian side you go through the town of Brennero, because everything in Italy has to end in a vowel.  When you are in Austria it is Brenner.

Our first stop on this trip was Innsbruck, Austria.  There were Brenner signs all over Innsbruck.  It was such a beautiful town stuck in the valley of the Alps.  We stayed at a hotel with a great view of the ski jump from the 1976 Winter Olympics!  Innsbruck is a beautiful town.  We met our friends the Hatteroth's there.  We decided to spend our spring break together!  Fun for the kids and adults.  They had not been out of Italy as a family yet.  We couldn't wait to go eat dinner and eat something other than pasta.  We found a really nice beer garden.  The kids ate schnitzel and pretzels and the adults drank beer!!  Good times!!
Can you tell it is close to easter?

I want to be a Von Trapp!

Trying on fun Bavarian hats!
Our roaming gnome!

Our next stop was not Venice, it was Legoland Germany!  This is all made out of legos!  It was so cool.  And the alligator eating Xander is made out of Legos too.  I thought the pool and the people in bathing suits was really funny! We spent two fun filled days enjoying the park!

Pretzels on a stick was a highlight for the the girls!  We spent hours walking around all the Lego displays.
